We are an open access choir welcoming everyone to sing with us.

Come and sing with us.

Our origins

South Norfolk Community Choir was started in 2017 when our choir leader recognised that there was space for a daytime affordable community choir in Wymondham.

Wymondham has lots of music going on but there was a gap which SNCC filled.

Singing sessions

We are a group of forty people of whom 25 regularly meet on Wednesday afternoons at the Roman Catholic Church Hall at Norwich Rd, Wymondham NR18 0QE

There is no commitment required as we recognise that people’s lives are busy. Come and sing when you can.

Grow with us

New members are always welcome. Your first two sessions are free so when we start singing in person again you are very welcome to come along and see if you like it.

Our Repertoire.

We sing a wide variety of songs from simple rounds to full scale songs. We learn everything by ear so you don’t need to be able to read music in order to join in. Sometimes we have sheet music if that helps. Clare makes practice CDs and downloadable MP3 files for members so they can learn their part at home.

Covid-Times

We stopped singing in person in March 2020 due to lockdown. As restrictions eased we sang in choir members’ gardens in groups of six during the summer of 2021. From the beginning of 2022, we started singing together in person in a socially distanced way, and we wear masks when we move around the hall. When restrictions ease further, the trustees will review our risk assessment and make changes. We hope that singing and being together will become easier and that our sessions will return to 2 hours.
